Our Historic Property

An abandoned room cluttered with broken furniture and cardboard boxes.

From weathered beams and boarded windows to restored elegance; we’re breathing new life into this historic home. Preserving its original character and structural soul, our careful renovation blends modern comfort with the stories these walls hold. Watch history become beautiful again.

Meet Tiffany, Owner of Foscue Place

I moved to Demopolis after marrying my husband, Richy Naisbett, owner of The Cedars. While still working in Arizona, I also manage events and farm stays for him at The Cedars.  In 2025, I purchased The Foscue House—a nearly original 1840s home that has served as a beloved restaurant on and off for decades. The first time I dined there, I was saddened to see such a historic treasure not receiving the care I thought she deserved. Fortunately, the previous owner, Avery Bird, trusted that I would honor her family's legacy with the same respect and craftsmanship Richy is known for.

Growing up on a multi-generational family farm in a small Arizona town, I learned early to cherish heritage, historic buildings, and the land. My roots run deep in the southeast, my father was born in Dawson, Georgia and before settling in Arizona my mother’s people hailed from north Alabama, making this move feel full circle. Demopolis feels like home, a warm, history-rich community where neighbors still know one another. My mission is to preserve The Foscue House as she should be while adapting her for modern use, ensuring her survival for the next 200 years.

Richy will be integral to the renovation and development; his experience with projects of this complexity is invaluable. We share a deep commitment to preserving agricultural heritage. Together, we own these adjoining historic properties and we are working to reunite them back into a single farming operation. In doing so we honor the Whitfield and Foscue family legacies and create places where visitors can experience the beauty, history, and living traditions of Demopolis and west Alabama.

Foscue Place will feature new hotel room structures designed to be period-appropriate and complimentary to the property. These will help raise funds for the meticulous restoration of The Foscue House, the heart of our grounds. I hope to collect cherished local memories of this landmark and look forward to creating new ones with guests who visit Demopolis. Our promise? Luxury wrapped in country comfort.
